Service Description

Testosterone is a private blood test that measures your total testosterone, the main male sex hormone. Total testosterone includes the testosterone carried by proteins in your blood (SHBG and albumin) and the small amount circulating freely. It is often the first test men take when they have symptoms such as low energy, low sex drive or reduced muscle strength. It is also used in women to look into symptoms such as irregular periods or excess hair growth. A single result is not a diagnosis. Testosterone changes through the day and from day to day, so a low or borderline result is usually confirmed with a second test and is best read alongside SHBG and free testosterone. Sample type: Blood For the most accurate result, please book a morning appointment, ideally before 11am. Same-day appointments are often available at our Crewe clinic (37 High Street, Crewe CW2 7BL). Your confirmation email includes the date, time, full clinic address and a link to manage or cancel your booking. You can cancel for a full refund, or move your appointment once for free, up to 24 hours before, using the link in your confirmation email. You pay securely by card when you book, and your appointment is confirmed straight away. Every sample is analysed by our UKAS-accredited laboratory, and every result includes clinician interpretation in a clear, comprehensive report.
