Advanced Well Man is our most complete health check designed for men – general health, thyroid, testosterone and other hormones, iron, vitamin D and a prostate check (PSA), from one blood sample and one urine sample. It is ideal if you want answers about tiredness, low energy or low drive alongside a full body check. What it checks: • Full Blood Count – red and white blood cells, haemoglobin and platelets • Kidney health – creatinine, eGFR, urea, sodium, potassium, chloride and phosphate • Liver health – ALP, ALT, AST, GGT, bilirubin and albumin • Heart health – total, LDL and HDL cholesterol, cholesterol ratio, triglycerides and hsCRP (inflammation) • Diabetes – glucose and HbA1c (your average blood sugar over 2–3 months) • Bone health – adjusted calcium, phosphate, ALP and vitamin D • Iron stores – ferritin • Thyroid – TSH, free T4, free T3, thyroglobulin antibodies and TPO antibodies • Hormones – testosterone, SHBG, free androgen index, oestradiol, FSH, LH, prolactin and progesterone • Prostate – total PSA • Urine check – protein, glucose, ketones, blood, white cells, nitrite, bilirubin, urobilinogen and pH Who it is for: men over 40, men with low energy, low mood, reduced sex drive or difficulty building muscle, anyone with a family history of heart disease, diabetes or prostate problems, and anyone who wants a thorough yearly check with hormones and PSA included. Your result: a clear medical report with clinician interpretation, explaining every result, including your testosterone level in context. A raised PSA does not on its own mean cancer, as it can rise with an enlarged prostate, infection or recent exercise; if yours is raised, we explain what it means and the next steps. Sample: blood and a urine sample, both taken at the clinic. Preparation: book a morning appointment, ideally before 11am, as testosterone is highest in the morning. Avoid food for 8–10 hours before for the most accurate cholesterol and glucose results; water is fine. Avoid ejaculation and vigorous cycling for 48 hours before, as they can raise PSA. Stop biotin (vitamin B7) supplements 48 hours before, as they can affect thyroid and hormone results. Turnaround: 2–5 working days.
