hCG Pregnancy Blood Test

Want to know for sure, and early? Our Beta hCG blood test measures the exact level of the pregnancy hormone hCG in your blood. It can confirm pregnancy from around 7–10 days after conception, before a home test turns positive, and gives you a number, not just a yes or no.

YOUR TEST

Beta hCG (quantitative)

£89 all-in: blood draw, laboratory analysis and a report with clinician interpretation. An Easy Read version is available.

What it checks

The exact level of hCG (human chorionic gonadotrophin) in your blood. In early pregnancy hCG roughly doubles every 48–72 hours, so a repeat test 48 hours later shows whether it is rising.

Results

1–3 working days, with clinician interpretation.

BLOOD TEST VS HOME TEST

hCG Blood Test vs Home Pregnancy Test

A home urine test only shows yes or no, and usually only after a missed period. A blood test is more sensitive, can detect pregnancy earlier and measures your exact hCG level. That is why it is used to check that levels are rising in early pregnancy, after IVF or after a previous loss.

01

Earlier answer

Can confirm pregnancy from around 7–10 days after conception.

02

Exact hCG level

A number, not just a yes or no, so changes can be tracked.

03

Track rising levels

Book a second test 48 hours later to see if hCG is rising as expected.

04

After IVF or fertility care

Reassurance after treatment or a previous miscarriage.

05

Add progesterone

Many women add progesterone (£66) for extra reassurance. Ask when you book.
