A non-invasive Early Gender Blood Test blood test that examines fetal DNA present in the mother's bloodstream to determine your baby's sex. Your sample is taken by our phlebotomist at our Crewe clinic and analysed at a UK laboratory. HOW IT WORKS During pregnancy, small amounts of your baby's DNA circulate in your blood. The laboratory checks whether Y-chromosome DNA is present in your sample. If it is, you are expecting a boy. If it is not, you are expecting a girl. BEFORE YOU BOOK - PLEASE READ - You must be at least 7 weeks pregnant. Testing earlier than this may not produce a result, because there may not yet be enough fetal DNA in your blood. - This test is suitable for single pregnancies only. It is not validated for twins or other multiple pregnancies. - Please confirm your gestational dates before booking. If you are unsure, the NHS due date calculator can help, or wait a further week or two. WHAT THIS TEST DOES NOT DO This is a sex-determination test only. It does not screen for Down's syndrome, Edwards' syndrome, Patau's syndrome, or any other chromosomal or genetic condition. It is not a diagnostic test and is not a substitute for NHS antenatal screening. RESULTS Results are released once your sample has been analysed at the laboratory and reviewed by our team. Turnaround times are confirmed at the time of booking and normally within 3-5 days PRICE £149, including your appointment and blood draw at our Crewe clinic. No additional phlebotomy fee.
